DiagnosisRelatedGroupSystemDefinition
This table contains DRG Types that are used to categorize DRGs by code set and version. A DRG Type (DRG_TYPE_ID) is an Identity ID Type for the DRG master file. The DRG Type is determined by combining the DRG code set (e.g. MS-DRG) and the DRG version or effective date (e.g. Version 28). For example, a DRG Type might be "MS-DRG Version 28." A DRG type will be mapped to either a unique DRG code set and DRG version pair, or a unique DRG code set and effective date range. The actual configuration will depend on whether the third party grouping system specifies an explicit DRG version, or determines a DRG version based on a date associated with the hospital account.
| Column Name | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| InformationLineNumber | INTEGER | The line number for the information associated with this record. Multiple pieces of information can be associated with this record. |
| EffectiveFromDate | DATETIME | The "Effective from" date mapped to a DRG Type. Either an effective date range or a version will be combined with the DRG code set to determine the DRG Type. |
| DiagnosisRelatedGroupTypeEffectiveEndDate | DATETIME | The "Effective to" date mapped to a DRG Type. Either an effective date range or a version will be combined with the DRG code set to determine the DRG Type. |
| OwningCommunityIdentifier | VARCHAR | The Community ID (CID) of the instance that owns this record or line. This is only populated if you use IntraConnect. |
| DiagnosisRelatedGroupCodeSetCategory | VARCHAR | The DRG code set category number to map to a DRG type. Either an effective date range or a version will be combined with the DRG code set to determine the DRG Type. |
| HospitalBillingProfileIdentifier | NUMERIC | The unique identifier (.1 item) for the Hospital Billing System Definitions profile record. |
| DiagnosisRelatedGroupTypeIdentifier | NUMERIC | The DRG Type that is associated with a specific DRG code set and version or effective date. A DRG type is used to determine the DRG that is received from the third party grouping system. For example, a DRG number may refer to two different groupers within two different code sets. The type (code set plus version/effective date) determines which DRG is filed to coding from the third party grouping system. |
